Where’s That/WhatS That
By: Lucas Matney
When freshman first come to college, they usu
ally ask where or what something is. So I have made a
list of things that will help the entire freshman class.
• Add/drop Class- A student may add or drop a class
through August 20.'^ After that date, the student
must get his/her advisor and instructor to sign the
form. If the form is not filled out or not filled out cor
rectly, the student may receive a failing grade.
• Attendance- Class attendance is very important.
Students are responsible for any and all work that is
missed. Some instructors even count attendance as
part of the overall grade. Also if you miss too many
classes, an instructor can drop you from the class.
• ID Cards- Students are required to have an ID card
to check out library books, get into college activities,
and vote in college elections. Students may get their
ID from the library.
• Intramural Activities- There are a number of different
sports with which a student can involved. All you
have to do is watch the bulletin boards for informa
tion.
• SGA- stands for Student Government Association.
Officials are elected each year to help organize stu
dent activities.
• Cougar Crv- This is WCC’s student newspaper. The
paper is produced six times a year. And is a good
source to find out what is happening around the col
lege.
These are a few things that will help new students in
their first year at WCC.
What’s the Pit?
The Pit is the name of the Theater in Thompson
Hall. Over the summer the drama department preformed
the play, "Marcus Is Walking: Scenes from the Road.”
The play was about scenes in and around the car. The
time is the 100"’ anniversary of the automobile. The cast
included Karen Staten, Alan Richey, Shannon Reynolds,
Allison Laney, Jessica Johnson, Nikki West, Nate Gor-
she, Chris Sowers, Joseph Anderson, Julie Harmon,
and was directed by Dave Reynolds. The next play to be
put on is “Godspell," Auditions will be August 22 and
23^'*. HOPE TO SEE YOU AT AUDITIONS!
