Here at WCC there are 15 full-time instructors and 25 part-time instructors in Dr. German’s division alone. Being a “people person” is essential for one to be there to listen when needed and to help motivate when required. Dr. German also finds himself being there as a counselor for the students, or sometimes just being there to listen. When asked if he would en courage students to go into the Industrial En gineering field, Dr. German commented that most all A-B achievement level students can find work in the maintenance type programs; industrial systems, electronics, computer en gineering, and heavy equipment (the diesel program), because there is always a demand for those after graduation. Through the Indus trial Systems program, the students learn every aspect of a manufacturing plant: electri cal, plumbing, hydraulics, welding, etc. be cause when they go to work they are ex pected to repair anything that breaks down.
