WCC Job Placement Office By Debbie Furr Do you need help finding a job or writing a resume? Then you’re in luck! The WCC Job Placement Office helps students and alumni find full and part-time jobs, write resumes, prepare for interviews, and provide labor market information - all at no cost! Jobs are posted via a free and effective resource called College Central Network (CCN). Founded in 1996, New York City-based College Central Network is the nation’s leading application service provider of career office management systems to small, mid-size, and community colleges. CCN serves over 1,000,000 stu dents enrolled at more than 250 partner campuses. All WCC students and alumni are eligible to use the CCN Online Jobs Board at www.collegecentral.com/ wilkescc or at www.wilkescc.edu (under Current Stu dents). Both websites give students and graduates the ability to view detailed job descriptions, post resumes, and contact employers directly. Information regard ing workshops, job fairs, and special events are also posted on College Central Network. Similar informa tion is available in the Job Placement News section of Campus Cruiser. Whether you need a resume to post on CCN or for a class assignment, the Job Placement Office can teach you the skills needed to write an effective resume us ing a variety of resources. Students also have the op portunity to learn interview tips and techniques and participate in mock interviews. We want to help you get the job you really want! Understanding local, state and national labor markets may be confusing. The Job Placement Office can help you learn which jobs are in demand as well as salary information and education requirements for a variety of careers. Don’t wait until graduation to learn more about the careers available in your chosen program of study.
