Hinshaw SUBSCRIPTION PRICE SI.OO Address all communications to THE GUILFORDIAN Guilford College, N. C. THANK YOU. 11l closing this year's work and in sending out this our last issue of the Guilfordian we, the ohl hoard, wish to express our appre ciation of the assistance rendered us by our friends both in college and without; with them we wish to share whatever success the pa per has won during this, its first year. To Miss Rlioades for her kind ness in always furnishing a music al article, valuable for its informa tion and high literary quality, we feel greatly indebted. By her the third page was always cared for, thus relieving any anxiety about that space. We are assured from numerous compliments we have heard that her articles have been widely read and appreciated. Prof. Wooslev, by his energetic and enthusiastic support in furn ishing Alumni notes, has made the Guilfordian attractive to the Alumni and old students, keeping them informed of their classmates and friends. We feel that this has l>een one of the most valuable de partments of our paper and are deeplj' appreciative of his work in connection with it. Among those who have made contributions are: Dr. and Mrs. Hobbs, Profs. Dixon, Downing. Hobbs and Peele; Misses Edwards and Aver, Mrs. Meredith, Messrs. Richard Hobbs, Joseph Purdey. Robert Brown, Harrell Bmld, De borah Brown, Bernice Pike, Lola Edwards, Callie Lewis and Ethel Speas. Mr. A. K. Moore, 'll, very kind ly conveyed the manuscript to the printer for many weeks and has our warmest gratitude. There remains another to whom the board feels that it owes more than to any other person—Prof. Montgomery, our censor. He has displayed unfailing patience and care in correcting manuscripts, giving us the best of advice at hoard meetings and in fact in every detail of the paper and its work. He has censored practical ly ill of the articles that have been handed in and nothing short of his marked ability con Id have made onr (Jnilfordian what it is. To hiiu we express our sincere thanks and gratitude. It is with regret that we lax down onr pen for the last time. We have worked hard on the Guil fordian, but it has been a labor of love. If it has endeared (Jnilford to the hearts of her Alumni and student body, if it h;is brought up pleasant memories of the past, if it has shown the work that she is trving to lo today, if it has aided in the least toward a bigger ;inl better (Jnilford, with a higher and nobler spirit animating all her ac tivities. then our labor has not been in vain, and we are repaid many fold for our exertions. We hand the torch to those who follow us with the best of wishes for the success of their endeavors and the fond desire that they may far sur pass our feeble beginnings, and be guided ever in their labors by the single ideal —for (Jnilford. GOODBYE, OLD GUILFORD. Senior Farewell Song. (To be sung to tune of Bluebell.) Classmates, the dawn is waking, Classmates, we must not sigh; Oh! how our hearts are breaking. We've come to say goodbye. Hear how the world is calling, Calling to each brave heart; Classmates, our tears are falling. Classmates, we soon must part. (Chorus) Goodbye, old Guilford, Farewell to you; Our fond farewell, To those we love so t rue. Mid future gleanings, Mid work and fun; We'll still he dreaming, Of the tasks well done. Some day we'll he returning, Classmates and friends so true; Guilford, our Alma Mater, Oh! how we'll all greet 3*oll. Then we will tell the story, Tell how we fought and won; Glad to be called your daughters, Proud to be called your sons. E. R., 'ls. SENIOR RECEPTIONS.
