JUNIOR-SENIOR RECEPTION.
(Continued from first page)
First, the president of the Junior
class, Joe White, in an interesting
and entertaining way welcomed the
guests of honor. Joe Reddi'ck, presi
dent of the Senior class, gave an ap
propriate response. During the even
ing the musicians of the class, Misses
Blair and Hobbs and Mr. Fitzgerald,
charmed their hearers with the ex
cellent rendering of their respective
themes.
Miss Blair, with her inimitable
touch, gave a most pleasing ipiano se
lection, and Mies Hobbs and Mr. Fitz
gerald were at their bust and sang
their respective solos with an 'unsur
passed degree of excellence.
A delicious course was served by
the Sophomore girls, Misses Camp
bell, V. Mcßane, Moore, D. Mcßane,
( loud and Raiford. The menu was
as follows:
Chicken salad with lettuce hearts
Sal'tinee Olives Sandwiches
Ice Cream a La 'Su6anne
Angel Food Cake
Crackers Cheese
Cafe JNoir
But on occasions such as this the
hands of time move swifter and soon
—too soon—the Seniors realized that
tor them that occasion hoped for and
dreamed of had come and gone.
But tho' there was a bit o' sadness
mixed with all the gladness, yet .most
of all there was admiration for those
who had planned and executed so
lovely a reception. And as the 18's
departed they felt that when May
should come and go, they could with
befitting ease, bestow their togas of
dignity and seniority upon so worthy
and so deserving a class.

MICROSCOPIC TECHNIQUE
AT THE SCIENCE CLUB
The faithful few who resisted oth
er attractions to attend Science Club
on Wednesday, March 6th, were re
warded by .hearing 'an interesting
talk on methods in microscopic tech
nique.
Professor Rogers told about the
use and limitation of the microscope
and demonstrated the mechanism of
the micrometer. He explained the
theory and practice of fixing and de
hydrating tissues, and the principal
methods of imbedding, cutting, stain
inig and mounting biological mate
rials.
As the progress made in biology
has depended upon the improvement
of histological technique, Professor
Rogers' lecture proved very instruc
tive to those interested in that
science.
