4 ALUNNI NOTES The Extension Department of the University of North Carolina pub lished in September a leaflet pre pared by D. D. Carroll, 'O7, profes sor of Economics at the University, entitled "Studies in Citizenship for Women." These excellent outline studies were prepared by Mr. Car roll as the result of a request made by the Civics Department of North Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs. Alvah Lindley, 'OB, and Alice Woody Lindley, 'O9, with their lit tle daughter, Mary Woody, ars spending a few days with Mrs. Lind ley's parents here. Mr. Lindley since his relief from Y. M. C. A. war work is general secretary of the city Young Men's Christian Association in Wilmington, Delaware. Samuel H. Hodgin, '95, is con nected with the insurance division of the Carnegie Foundation, his in terest being to solicit college fac ulties of the eligible colleges in his district of five western states. He continues to make his home in Rich mond, Ind. Joseph H. Peele, '9l, who recently completed his work at Hartford ( Theological Seminary, has accepted pastoral work among Friends in Passadena, Cal. Ida E. Millis, 'O3, is teaching in Jamestown High School. A little daughter, Sarah Margaret, was born to Mr. and Mrs. E. 11. Mcßane, 'l4, on October 19. Con gratulations are extended. Robt. Brown, 'ls, has accepted a position in the Woodleaf High School. Vivian Haworth Williard, 'l9, has accepted the principalship of the Well's school near her home at Jamestown. C. C. Smithdeal, 'll, has returned from overseas service and is again connected with the Smithdeal Real Estate Company in Winston. Ben bow Jones, 'lB, is also connected with this company. Mary I. White, 'l2, was married last June to Mr. J. E. Wiggins, of Sunbury, N. C. ZATASIAN NOTES. At the last regular meeting of the Zatasian Literary Society on Friday evening, Oct. 31, a program appro priate for Hallowo-en was given. Each number was interesting and well given. The program was as follows: 1. Reading, "The Shadows," Mi~s Martin. ~ , 2. Customs of Hallowe'en, Miss Allen. 3. Reading, "The Raven," Miss Teague. 4. Instrumental Duet, Misses Marshall and Taylor. 5. The Fortunes of the Zatasians, Miss Seal. The society was glad to have as a visitor one of its old members, Miss Hodgin, and to welcome as a member Miss Blanche Lindley.
