The students have been listening with keen interest to the accounts of Japan, given by Mr. and Mrs. Gur ney Binford. DARKTOWN CUTS LOOSE APRIL 2nd The annual Ngro Minstrel is to be held April 2, in Memorial Hall. This is an exposition given by the Young Men's Athletic Association. Though the whole performance sel dom has a classical appearance, the minstrel requires an expenditure of much time and hard work. This sac rifice is donated by those who com pose the minstrel club, to the Ath letic Association. The jokes given are mostly original, and many of them local. The music is presented only after wieeks of constant practice. So April 2nd will be the time when you may see the biggest show of the season. BONES, .SNOWBALL, AND THE THE WHOLE GANG—APRIL 2nd Hundreds of people come to Guil ford almost every Sunday. Those who stop comment on the beauty of the campus and the pleasant atmos phere of the place. But in speaking to their friends, the visitors invari ably ask one question, "What do you do on Sunday?" Some students may answer this question correctly by saying they sleep the time away. To many of the students, however, Sunday is one cf the seven busy days of the week with just a change of program. On Sunday there is the regular chapel, conducted by the two Crhis tian Associations, held at 9:30. Sun day School for the girls in Founders Hall and for tho boys in Cox Ilall follows chapel. Eleven o'clock is the regular preaching hour. During the afternoon the library is open for two hours. At seven o'clock in the evening the regular meeting of the Christian Endeavor is held. Then to some of the students Sun day is not a dull day . DARKTOWN GOES WILD April Second THE "CLEAN-UP" SPIRIT IS STILL ACTIVE The wonderful spirit of co-operation which was on the campus. Thursday after noon, of Clean-Up Day still remains in the hearts of many loyal Guilfordians. The Faculty helped Miss Julia White, the Librarian, clean her lawn, one after noon during the past week. They also worked on Dr. Binford's lawn one after noon. Dr. Binford reports that their work has been very efficient. I'se G-wine ter Meet Yo' at der Minstrel, April 2nd. JUNIORS ARE GIVEN A SPLENDID ENTERTAINMENT It was surely a jolly set of "Jolly Jun iors" that two and two wended their way to the home of Mrs. George White at 6:00 o'clock on Tuesday evening, March 15, 1921. Knowing that there was something in the air (and probably in the kitchen, too), and yet not knowing exactly what, caused the excitement to run high. Having reached the place about which the excitement centered, instructions were given to find place cards at the tables which were arranged in the sun porch and dining room. The rooms were beautifully decorated with potted plants and jonquils. The following dinner was served: Creamed Chicken Deviled Eggs Rice Pickles English Peas Hot Rolls Butter Jam Banana Salad Saltines Peach Gelatine Cake Salted Peanuts Coffee The class adjourned to the lawn where the time was spent in playing games. The Juniors indeed partook of the cup of joy and it is with a feeling not entirely pleasant that they think of the short time left them as Juniors, for soon they will as sume the dignity of Seniors and a short while later the burdens of the wide, wide world will be theirs.
