Page Four Campus Activities Highlight The 1957 Christmas Season Student Talent Featured In "Winter Wonderland" The production "Winter Won derland," staged by the Men's Stu dent Government, was presented to the student body of the college at 8:00 p.m., December 6th. The theme of the show was car ried out by the four elves, Droopy, Gawky, Grumpy, and Happy, played by Carol Mcßane, Lee An drews, Lester Parker, and Sue Drake, while they waited for Santa Claus, who appeared just at the end of the production. Musical acts such as "Silver Bells" sung by Betty Ann Pringle, Paul McDon ald, Mary Ellen White, and Tom O'Briant balanced comedy acts such as Craven Mackie, Bay Al bright, and Chester Haworth. The hour and a half long show took place in the auditorium in Memorial Hall. W.S.G. And S.C.A. Play Santa Claus The Student Christian Associa tion and the Women's Student Government joined hands this year on the 15th of December at 2:00 in the Student Union, and played Santa Claus to twenty-five grade school children. The youngsters were treated to supper and were each given Christmas stockings, along with other gifts. Each of the three girls' dormitories were separately responsible for a portion of the children's afternoon. I. R. C. Is Host At Student Dinner A dinner was given in Founders dining hall by the International Belations Club on Friday night, December 13th. The entire student body was invited, and dinner music accompanied the meal. Student Union Scene Of S.A.M. Party The Society for Advancement of Management celebrated its Christ mas with a party in the Student Union at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. 0 O A Waiter's Party was held in the Student Union at 8:30 p.m. on De cember 15th. A large Christmas tree decorated one end of the room, and presents were exchanged after the meal. Christmas Dinner Held At Mary Hobbs On Thursday night, December 12th, at 6:00 p.m., Mary Hobbs Hall held a Christmas dinner in the dining room of the dorm. Boys were invited, and entertainment was presented in the form of vocalists. Holiday decorations blos somed out with a warm Christmas glow, complete with a Christmas tree. Guilfordians Take Your Trade to the Piggly Wiggly % M*LK [ THE GUILFORDI AN Nativity Presented In Spanish "Gloria a Dios en las alturas" was the theme of the Christmas party given by the Spanish club, Thursday night, December sth, at 7:30. The Student Union lounge was decorated Spanish style, and there were a number of guests from local colleges. A religious play was presented entirely in Spanish, starring Pat Garner and Tom O'Briant, after which everyone joined in the sing ing of Spanish Christmas Carols. With Post Bar bour as pianst, the group sang sev eral arrangements, such as "And the Glory of the Lord" from Isiah, and the "Hallajulah Chorus." The program was held in the New Garden Meeting House at 4:00 p.m., and several soloists from Greensboro and the surrounding areas highlighted the program. "Rhythm Vets" Furnished Music For Christmas Dance The annual semiformal Christ mas Dance was held in the gym nasium on December 14th at 8:30 p.m. It is sponsored every year by the Monogram Club, and this year the "Rythm Vets" from A and T College in Greensboro furnished the music for the evening. The highlight of the dance was the intermission at which time the Christmas Queen was presented. F.T.A. Dine With Professor Bailey The Future Teachers of America celebrated their Christmas by en joying a dinner at Mr. Bailey's house last Saturday night, the 14th of December, at 6:00 p.m. The Baileys entertained the group.
