Guilford students who have
sung in church or high school
choirs are invited to join the
Adult Choir at New Garden
Meeting. All parts are needed,
(soprano, alto, tenor, bass)
but especially tenors and
basses. Rehearsals are
held on Thursday evenings
from 7:40 to 9 p.m. There
is also a short rehearsal on
Sunday mornings before the
11 a.m. service. Please
contact Marilyn Burris, Choir
Director, at 292-4213, or the
minister, David Bills, at 292-
5487 if you are interested. Even
if you cannot attend all re
hearsals or sing on a regular
basis, there may be special
Sundays or occasions (such as
Christmas, Easter) when you

Hiram Hilty, Professor of
Spanish and Chairman of the
Foreign Language Department,
was one of four representatives
appointed to attend the
50th anniversary of the found
ing of the Cuba Yearly Meeting
of Friends. The appointments
were made by the Friends
World Committee and the
Wider Ministries Commission
of the Friends United Meeting.
In addition to attending the
meeting. Dr. Hilty visited five
Monthly Meetings and spent
fifteen days observing island
life.
There will be a short
meeting for all students inter
ested in working on the Piper
Literary Magazine on
Wednesday, September 14,
at 10:30 a.m. in the Passion

The Guilford College Film
Series for 1977-78 will offer
over 40 feature attractions
ranging from the recent
Barry Lyndon and Dog Day
Afternoon to the 1941 Bogart
classic High Sierra.
And, on 12 successive
Friday evenings, the student
run series will show Buck
Rogers serials.
Tyler Sauer of Greensboro,
Film Series chairman, announ
ced that members of the
Guilford College Arts Series
are entitled to free admissions
to the movies, which begin at
8:15 p.m.
All except two films will be
shown in Sternberger Auditor
ium. Boys in the Band and
Barry Lyndon will be shown in
Dana Auditorium, Sauer
said.

The Placement Office
has received information on
the registration dates and
test dates for the fall Grad
uate Record Exam and Law
School Aptitude Test. The
first LSAT exam will be held
on October 8, with the final
day to register without a late
charge having been Sept. 8.
THE LATE REGISTRATION
PERIOD CLOSES SEPT. 15.
The first GRE will be held on
Oct. 15 with the regular
registration deadline being
September 19. The late
registration period closes on
Sept. 23. The Placement

as the Philosophy Club meets
for discussions and hears
speakers at Guilford, UNCG,
and Chapel Hill. The club,
which is composed of students
and professors, will meet
on Wednesday, September
21, at 2:00 p.m. in the Fine
Arts Room of the library to
begin discussing Morality:
An Introduction to Ethics by
Bernard Williams. The book
is available in the bookstore
for $2.45 (and is printed on
100% recycled paper).
The first discussion will center
on the preface to Williams'
book and Chapter One - The
