The Physical Education department is glad to announce a new course for next semester that could be of great value to any student. The course is PE 360, Section 003, Team Sport Officiating. The class is one credit. Pass/ Fail, and meets for two hours a week for those people inter ested in officiating basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, and baseball. This course will open a lot of opportunities for instant employment. Church leagues, YMCA's, YWCA's, recreation leagues, intramural programs, etc. are all in need of officials. These organizations also pay officials for their work. Like we said, this course can be of "great value" to any student. The National Council of Juvenile Court Judges is announcing the second national conference on the problems of girls in the juvenile justice system. It will be held December 1-3, 1977 at the Hilton Gateway Inn, Kissimee (Orlando) Florida. The conference will explore and examine the following areas: alcohol and young women; incest and sexual abuse; impact of changing sex roles; delinquency pre vention; co-education institu tions; patterns of delinquent behavior in young girls; and the minority girl in the juvenile system. The Women's Coalition is starting a consciousness raising group, open to any woman who wishes to partici pate. Wherever you stand with relation to the women's move ment, we all have in common the fact of being women. In the CR group we will explore what it means to be female in this country at this time.
