page four Homecoming: greasy kid's stuff By Robin Smith and Emmy Scott There is going to be a new image for Homecoming this year with new events, plenty of fun activities, two athletic events, and a host of exciting festivities. Homecoming will be the weekend of October 26, 27, and 28, a great time to see old friends and meet new ones. A fifties theme will flavor the entire weekend, so dress in the spirit. This action-packed weekend will open up with a bonfire-pep rally on Friday night followed by "Who knows what?" On Saturday morning the day begins at 8:00 a.m. with the Harvey Ljung Homecoming Classic Coif Tournament at the Bel-Aire Coif Course. All in terested students, faculty, staff and alumni are urged to enter. There will be a $15.00 fee for greens, cart and trophies. At 10:00 a.m. the Alumni Open Round Robin Doubles Tennis Tournament begins and is open to everybody. There will be no fee for this tournament. The soccer team in Armfield Stadium at 2:00 p.m. takes on Greensboro College This will prove to be an exciting game. Then hold on to your britches -v I Mt vK\ v Drop in on next week's skydiving photo essay featuring pictures by Kore-Key Ink. and grab your hats because the Skyline Cloggers and an accom paying bluegrass band will en lighten your spirits and tickle your fancy in front of Dana Auditorium. There will be a "Pig-Pickin" for those interest ed, the cost is $4.50 (payable in advance). The Homecoming Parade be fore the game in Jamieson Stadium at 7:00 pm is being revived. All the "creative" people on campus are urged to decorate their cars and enter. A panel of judges will deter mine the winning car on the basis of most imaginative elaboration of the theme. Any number of people can work on a car, but a list must be handed in at the gate stating who the "creative members" are. Keep ideas in the spirit of things, remember this is in honor of the 50's. At 7:30 pm Cuilford takes on the Davidson Wildcats. The game will be under the lights of Jamieson Stadium, not far from Cuilford. This will be one of Guilford's most challenging games of the '79 season. Half time will be explosive with a performing band and fiery fabulous fire works. After the game, get ready to Guilfordian f** ' ;U dance to the sounds of the "Clovers". They will be playing a selection of contemporary music that the "Clovers" are known for. Come prepared to dance the night away. Worried about a ride to the Goings on About Town "Candide", a musical adapt ation by Leonard Bernstein, will be playing at Aycock Audi torium, UNC-G at 8:15 pm September 27-29 and October 4-6.
