Good grades aren't a major critera for being accepted in-to the program. Adelberger said, "I'd rather have someone with poor grades but an intense desire to see Germany, then someone with straight A's, and isn't sure why they are going." Adelberger prefers to have registration completed by the end of the semester so that he can start having informal meet ings to discuss what to bring,- the exchange rates, and other information about the program. Emphasis is not just on the course material. Stress will be to live the things that are learned in the classroom. Adel berger encourages independent study because it allows one to venture out into the community.
