Her reason for choosing this play is mainly because she feels there is not enough good dramatic quality material that is made for women. This play is written by a woman. There were various roles for several girls here at Guilford which gave many a chance to act. "Uncommon Women" is a full-length play where no one has the lead. It is a true "ensemble cast." Marcia thinks her cast is wonderful! They are hardwork ing fantastic girls. She's had great pleasure working with them and getting close through rehearsals. It was very hard casting the play but everyone has fulfilled her highest expectations. Marcia feels grateful for the opportunity to direct a full-length play in a small school. In a large school it would not have been possible. She is extremely grateful to Dr. Deagon for giving while at Clemson in 1977 and 1978, was named to AP and UPI All- America Second Teams, was voted the top blocker in ACC as a junior and a senior, and is presently a member of the St. Louis Cardinls of the NFL.
