2 tKfte &utltorftan Fall service trips in works Over thirty people have ex pressed interest in participating in Midwestern and Florida relief work over fall break. The largest group of students will travel to Missouri, where they will work with volunteers from the Friends Disaster Ser vice in repairing damage from the summer floods. A smaller group is interested in continuing the contacts made last year in Hurricane Andrew relief. Planning meetings are being held each Monday, 7:00 p.m. in the Hut. Committees are form ing to plan travel, meals and fund-raising. Cost per student is estimated at S4O, depending on receipt of outside funding sources. For more information, Carrie Eby and Max Carter may be con tacted. Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to partici pate, as College personnel are needed to accompany student groups. History club open house An open house for history ma jors and those interested in the major will be held Weds., Sept. 29,7 pjn. in Founders. History department professors and his tory club officers will attend. "The history club has a lot of things planned this year," said history club president Sarah Smith. A historical walking tour of the campus will be given at 12:30 on SaL, Sept. 31, for Fam ily Weekend. It will depart from the steps of Sternberger. "Everyone is welcome to all of our events, history major or not," Smith said. Brunnenburg meeting A video and slide show/meet ing for prospective students for spring 1994 semester abroad in Castle Brunnenburg will be held Sept. 27, 7:30 pjn. in the Leak Room of Duke.
