a petition voicing concerns about
the decisions being made asking
for an open forum for students.
In a meeting with members of the
Guilfordian staff on Saturday,
some of the Trustees said they
were touched by the petition and
would make every effort to keep
students informed about what is
happening.
The trustees also wanted to
address the student's worries.
"Believe in our sincerity," Frank
said. "We believe in Guilford or
else we wouldn't spend the time
we do."
Janet Dickerson, trustee, said
"We want to make progress with
out change, but those two things
go together." The trustees ex
pressed the belief that the struggle
going on at Guilford right now will
only make it stronger and better.
"I would prefer to be here
now," said Bruce Stewart, a trustee
and an alumnus who was at Guil
ford during the civil rights move
ment. "I can't think of a more ex
citing time to be here."

communicate with our listeners

WQFS."
Kim O'Connor, promotions
director, stated that the website
and the new 'zine were ways of
"expanding our audience, and
introducing new people to
WQFS. Before, listeners' access
was limited to the radio."
The station's number one
goal for the coming year is to
beat Tulane and be rated the
best college radio station in
America.
Andy described what it
would take to make that happen,
saying, "I believe that WQjFS has
a potential that has been under
used for a very long time, and
though we have one of the great
est staffs in the world, we will
have to put a lot more energy
into making us number one."
He did acknowledge the
station's significant accomplish
ments, stating proudly "Number
two isn't that bad."
