Under his leadership the li

Friends Historical Collection
(FHC), renovations to the 1909
building, the establishment of the
Info Village, as well as the $5.25

which added 53,000 square feet

new Art Gallery.
Asked of his role in the li

Behm responded, "In 20 years of
staff cuts, budget cuts, and other
problems, Herb would just weave
magic to make it all work so we
could maintain services. That was
his real gift to the library and the
college. When the staff would
want to test these cuts, he would
tell us the college was in crisis
and encourage us to be good sol

His contributions to the col

however. He also served as Spe
