THE GtIILFORDIAN DECEMBER 3, 1999 Sept. 5, 12:57 am Assault An officer was dispatched to Bryan Hall following a report of a possible assault. When the officer arrived at the indicated suite, he observed a student with an ice pack held to his right cheek. The injured student stated that he had walked out of his suite and was hit in the face with a full beer can by unknown individual(s). Security contacted EMS and the student received medical attention. Case remains °P en - -Y Sept. 10, 9:35 am Harassing Phone Calls A student came to the Security Office to discuss having her phone number changed. Student was visibly upset but declined to give a reason for the change. To protect the safety of the individual, the Security Department coordinated with IT&S to honor the student's request. QvO Sept. 10, 11:45 pm Sick Individual A Security Officer responded to a report of an ill student in Bryan. The officer and HD of Bryan attended to the student Student was escorted back to their room. No emergency medical service was requested. Sept. 10, 2:15 pm Trespassing A resident of Binford reported to officers that he saw a suspicious person on the 3rd floor of binford. Officers approached a non student who has been seen several times in the woods surrounding Guilford. The individual was given a trespass warning and requested not to return to college property. There were no injuries from the accident and only minor damages to the vehicles. The owners of the vehicles were not operating them at the time of the accident. A report was taken and the owners were notified of the accident. .i. ~V C/ Sept. 15, 11:59pm Assault Security officers responded to a report of an assault in the Milner lot beside the tennis courts. The owner of a vehicle involved in the aforementioned accident reportedly struck the driver of the other vehicle in the face twice. The two individuals exchanged words then separated. Responding parties spoke to both parties separately. The owner of the car later apologized to the driver. Financial compensation was offered for the damaged vehicle by one of the owners. Sept. 17, 2:30 am Suspicious Individual A student reported to a Security officer that the driver of a vehicle had followed him while he was on foot. The student had initially approached the vehicle, thinking the driver was a friend. The driver asked where he lived and if he needed a ride. When the offer was declined the driver continued in the same direction, following the student. The vehicle was a Gold Nissan Maxima with a spoiler. The driver was a white News male between 30-40 years old with wire-rimmed glasses. The student cut through campus to his residence and then contacted Security Control. The Security Department would like to remind everyone that calling ext. 2908 can get an escort. Students should also employ the "buddy system." (LP Sept. 21, 4 pm Vandalism A student reported to a Security officer that her car had been vandalized while parked in the Binford lot. Friday, December 10 (Reading (Day the week in CAMPUS MINISTRIES qyo Sept. 22, 2:45 pm Vehicle Accident A member of groundskeeping contacted security regarding damage to a vehicle parked outside the Pines. A mower damaged the vehicle while cutting grass in the area. Owner and business office were notified of damage. . ... Sept. 28, 10:10 am Breaking & Entering Two Security officers observed a young man climbing through the window into a suite in Bryan hall. The intruder was escorted to the Security office where he was given a trespass warning and instructed to leave the campus. The occupants of the room were not in the suite at the time and no items were reported missing. Case closed. 3
