This year there's a bigger staff and a new editor, and they're actively trying to get students to submit photos. "I think it's the yearbook staffs responsibility to make sure the yearbook is diverse," Alleyne said. "We've been adamantly trying to get seniors to submit photos." Aside from wariness in the student body, diversity is another issue this year's year book staff faces. They want to represent as much of Guilford's diverse student body in the yearbook as possible. "Yearbooks from previous years are not very diverse at all - it's the same people over and over again," Alle)me said. In order to do this, the staff has been constantly reminding sen iors and students to submit pho- Chantel Alleyn works on Yearbook tos, and even looking on Facebook. If they find a picture they like, they contact the student who posted it asking to use it. Some students don't think Guilford should have a yearbook at all. "They just seem like a high school thing," said first-year Alex Barnett. "It just seems like there's a distance between students at col leges. I won't care about half the things in my yearbook." Regardless, both this and last year's yearbooks are expected to be published by mid-summer. Both sets will be sent to the year's respec tive graduates as soon as they are pub lished. Photos can be submitted until mid-March via e-mail, or by drop ping them off at Alleyne's office in Founders hall. "It's just kind of one of those fun things you can look back on and be like 'oh, this was me when I was this old,' and 'oh, that's me with so-and-so,"' said senior Katrina Farmer. 3§ Yearbooks from past years Last week's article, "Man arrested on campus," was printed to provide a clear account of events from public safety in order to dispel rumors.
