B. C. Dunford’s playing, Bobby Croaker’s tap dancing, and Kelly Anne Smith’s singing delighted everyone. As a finale, Madame Lola Breathtaking (alias Lizzie Trotman), presented her company of panto mimic breath takers in “Lord trien’s Daughter.” To this talented group Salem extends a formal invi tation for a return engagement in the near future. Since all good things at Salem end at tvs-elve o’clock, midnight found all the peasants, valentines, queens, squaws, etc. tiulrned back into Salemites but happy over a never-to-be-forgotten evening. Life is like a game of tennis. Love always begins early in the game and there is no love after forty. And there was one who said: ‘The melancholy days are here, The saddest of all annals. It’s much to cool for B. V. D. ’s And still to warm for flannels.” MRS. LAUGHUN NEW ASSISTANT IN UBRARY (Continued From Page One) Mrs. Laughlin is originally from Beaumont, Texas. From there she went to Brenau College, in Gaines ville, 6a., from which she received her A.B. and B.M. degrees with a certificate in public school msuie. Not satisfied with that she went to Emory University for graduate work and received her M.A. degree. Since then she has taught in At lanta and Decatur, Ga., schools. She was elected Southern Province Presi dent of the Alpha Xi Delta National Sorority and has served in this ca pacity for the past seven years. Last fall she attended Library School at Emory University. Thus Salem has a very versatile but efficient addition to her faculty. Salem welcomes Mrs. Laughlin. ANSWERS 21. Nocturne. 22.
