These two Teams are now participating in the two YMCA Leagues, the “A” and “B”. With this arrangement, everyone is getting to play in all the games. The “B” Team began its second half of play on January 5, against Hastings Hill, losing that opening game by the close score of 22-29. Since that first game, the team had Levering Speaks In Chapel “Which Way to World Peace?” was the question posed to Tuesday’s chapel-goers by Mr. Samuel Levering, Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the World Federal ists of North Carolina. Mr. Levering, who runs an apple orchard in Virginia for a living and devotes the major part of this time and money to the promotion of world peace, pointed out the necessity of America’s facing the two predomi nant realities of the times: the want and suffering of the world and our power struggle with Russia. Rejecting as both undemocratic and impossible the power solution of compulsory domination through heavy armament, he proposed an an swer based on the Christian princi ples of love and just law—love thro ugh sharing, and law through a char ter revision that would enable the United Nations to enforce an inter national law applicable to individuals rather than nations. The' Team is still functioning as a complete unit, however, and sev eral outside games on tap in the near future. A game is scheduled for January 17 against the Old Rich mond All Stars to be played at the YMCA Gym. Tentative games are in the mill against Mayodan “Y” and the faculty. The latter game should furnisli much interest and in- tertainment to the Salem Campus. The Salemite will publish the re sults of the games to be played in tlie ensuing weeks.
