She entered school at Mt,Rleasant when she was 6 years old. She continued school throuf-h the seventh grade at that sch',;ol and then came to Bailey High School, Kero she made grades which entitled her to he valedictor ian of her class. The class is very proud of her and hopes that her plans for the ‘future will he success fully developed, '^Ee, who labors diligently need never despair;for all things are accomplished hy diligence and labor” -Menander. Renelle Pwrry,horn in Nash County on Sept,I6,1918 entered scho ol at Bailey High School in 1924. She was lucky not to have to change schools before she became a senior. As a sophmore,she was president of her class;as a junior,vice-presidcn1 and as a senior,secretary. She has great ambit ions,but as yet has not decided in which field to take up her work. Highest among her aims is that of becoming a nurse, ” I know no such thing as genius; it is nothing but labor and dili gence V -Hogarth Lillie Smith was born at Pikeville,Wayne County,May 5,1917. At the age of six,she entered the first grade at Bailey. She then returned to her birthplace and completed the fourth grade and ’ fifth grade. CRALTJATION EXERCISE The high school commencment will com.e to a. close on Tucsda.y Evening IXy l.The class day ex ercises will be presented at 8 "^.r.and followed by the com- mencment address by Judge Herr- iot Clarkson.We will have as gu est of honor at this time Judge Connor who is also a member of the Supreme Court, Presentation ofLiplomas and Seventh Grade certificates will follov/ the address. HIGH SCHOOL CLOSING EVENTS BEGIN In the high school auditorium Sunday m.orning Lr,A.L.Wilcox President of Louisburg College preacher] the 1934 baccalaureate serm.on to the fourteen members of the graduating class and a large audience,In a must impre ssive manner.Lr.Wilcox told the graduating class that to succeed in life one has to be a man or woman with a spirit--that knowl edge was nothing uhloss one know how to use what he had learned. Each girl and boy must be a per son who-thinks,plans and schemes he cannot v/ait as a dead piece of machinery to be fired into action by electricity. Luring the processional play ed by Miss Privette,tho glee club marched to thcircplaces by the Chief Marshal,Raymond Potter who ushered in the members of the gra duating class who wore dressed ap- (continued on page 4)
