CHAPTER f/INS DISTRICT HONOR The Bailey Chapter of the Puture Farmers of America won the Pirst Dis— trlct Chapter Contest at the State P. P.A. Convention held in Ralei^ June 12. The state is divided into five districts, and there are 76 schools in the First District, The winning Chapter of each district received a cash prize of i>2G.OO. The Bailey Chapter was represented at the Convention by the following jiembers: TheIbort, Boykin, State P.P.A, President;Richard Stott; Thomas Finely Louis Bissette; and E, A, Howton, adviser* NASH COUNTY FEDERATION MEETS I Advisers and delegates of the ei-gh t vocational schools in Nash County met - at Coopers School on Sopt;19, 1941, a Richard Stott, Horace High, and Jack Farmer were the delegates Represent ing the Bailey Chapter at this meet ing. Richard Stott was selected by the Bailey Chapter to be a candidate fcran office in the Federation and was elected treasurer for the ensuing year. The same delegates mot again at Coopers School in a call meeting Sept, 25, at which time they v^oricd out the program of v/ork for theFbd- oration. The Coopers Chapter served a chicken supper to the visit ing delegates and advisers. The Bailey Chapter will bo host to the Federation at the regyQar meeting in Octobor. THOIvLAS FINCH V/INS P.P.A. HONORS. Thomas Pinch, son of Ivlr. and Mrs, H,R. Pinch of Bailey, won the first District Supervised Practice Contests and v;as av;ardod the Carolina Far - mer Degree at the State F.F.A, Con vention, For these r.ccomplishments Thomas receives a free trip to The National P,P,A. Convention in Kansas City, Mo., in October and yS.OG, The points on which he won the Sup ervised Practice 'Contest are based on the number and size of projects, ownership of projects,improved prac tices made,home improvement , and savings. The points on which he won the Star Farmer Contest are based on Parti - cipation in Chapter Activities , thrift (use of time,talent and monq/), Scholarship, Sportsmanship, (in and out of school),Degrees held, and In- iativc. In three years Thomas has had a to tal of thirteen projects v/ith a total net profit of $464.45. This is tiao second year in succes sion that these honors have come to members of the Bailey Chapter,Thel- bcrt Boykin having rocelved the same l^st year.
