Octobcr 17, 1941 JOURNALISM CLASS STRIVES HIGHER STANDARDS The journalism clrtps has this year under taken the task of pub lishing the best mime ographed school paper in the state. As a re sult of this course, it will not be . sur prising if many choosc to continue working in the field of journal ism. The ''Bailey Buble'* has been entered in tv/o nation wide con tests from which it will receivo both ad verse and constructive criticism. The paper will be judged togeth er .with other papers from schools of the same size. Individual honors arc offered as well as prizes for the best paper. DRAMATICS CLUB ORCr ANIZED BY MR. MOR6AN Tuesday, October 7, the juniors and sen - iors mot with Ivlr.Mor gan and organized a Dramatics Club for the purpose of v;riting and presenting good plays. Eighteen members join ed, three boys and fifteen girls, but the club expects to in - crease its membership by the next mooting. Officers elocted were Horace High, president; Richard Stott, vice presidentj Iris High, secretary and treasur er; and Rachel Jones; reporter^ Pago 9 FIRST AID CLUB BEGINS ACTIVITIES One of the new clubs. First Aid, held its first meeting last Tuesday with Miss Lac key as adviser for the election of officers and tho discussion of the purpose and bene fits of tho clTib, In discussing reasons for organizing Miss Lackey stated that she hoped to teach the members how to care for minor cuts and scr atches, and to point out how different parts of the body arc con nected and assisted by different bones and m uscles. The materi al for this study will be furnished by tho Rod Cross, Ailoon Finch was ele cted president, to be assisted by Josephine Pacc as vicc-president; Martha Bunn, as secre tary and treasurer;and Janie Glover, reporter.
