-1" Kenneth Gay Awarded Life-Saving Medal Bailey High School* auditoriiun rang v/ith applause Wednesday,Oc tober 22, as Jack Far mer presented Kenneth Gay with a medal for his bravery in saving the life of a fellow companion, Bruce Bunn, Kenneth Gay, a fifth grade pupil and also a victim of paralysis, re-scued the Bunn boy as ; he v/as drovming last summer in Par mer’s Pond. Unassisted he succeeded in hold ing the boy out of the v/ater until help ar rived. Presentation of the award v/as made by the Y.IiI.A.A. of Bailey of which Jack Parmer is the president. School Store Pro vides for Rud Studerte Pencils, notebook pa per, notebooks, .ink pads, and other arti cles necessary for s'^hool work are avail able at the school store located in the supply room. Over 140 peo ple paid a nickel to enter the carnival. Prom the acl'Viia’siol.'i.,, bingo,fortune tolling, crazy house,cake v;alk, apple bobbing,fishing, and the sale of drinks and candy a total of ,r20.70 v;as received. Including the dimes donated each week and the corn and other farm products to be sold,the class already has well over 025.00. F3culty Pley Nets Highest In Yesrs on I SIJSAlTl,a four act comedy-draina, was pre sented October 28 in the Bailey High School auditorium, by members of the faculty. Differing from the usual procedure, two performances, matinee and evening, v/ere giv en, . Judging from enthusi astic remarks of the audience, I.Ir, G. G. Morgan gave an excel lent performance as the young bacholor en snared by Miss Quinn , a designing young so cialite. Mr. Herbert Liles, a friend of the school, also received favorable comment for his portrayal of the ’’Old: Soak". An enthusiastic audi- encc agreed that each character v/as well suited for his part. HILDRED RUPPIN n.Iiss Rhodes-, a member of the cast, had a t hroat ailment a fev/ days before the play v/as to be peeeonted, Iiildred Ruffin,a tenth grade student selected to "fill in”, learned the lines immediately, but r.iiss Rhodes recov ered in time to be in the play.
