CHARACTER
Character, one of the most pre
cious treasures we can have,is v/hat
we really are. As it is not %,sivon
to us, it can not bo taken awayj we
have to build it. Beginning in in
fancy, character building goes on
every day and hour of our life.
V/hen v/e are children, the building
depends largely upon our parents;
if they teach us to be kind, obe
dient and helpful, they help form
the firm foundations of pure char
acter. On the other hand, if they
let us have our own way, we becomo
selfish, disobedient, and useless. ^
As we grow older and character
molding falls more heavily on our
own shoulders, we realize the im
portance of those earlier years.
Always character is of use to
us--frequontly a shield against :
suspicion and slander, A man above |
reproach is he with a good charac-j
ter, but a man with a disreputable
character is often suspected of
many things of which he may be
guiltless,
