Dcccmbor 12 ^ 1941 .! .Ll^—^ k!^i Jan Perry Honored At Birthday Party Little Miss Jan Perry was honored with a birthday party in the first grade room Thursday afternoon. All the first grade pupils and a few other friends were present. Holly and Christinas decorations were used in the school room. The refreshment table was covered with white crepe paper with green strips All around the table were red and green candles v/ith fancy cakos as candle holders. Little Ivliss Per ry's place v/as marked by red tapers and a lovely birthday cake. Attractive favors c'oataitiii'ij, mints, nuts, and candy were at each child's place. Ice cream and cake were served. The little hostess found many protty birthday gifts under the Christmas tree and all enjoyed see ing her open the packages. A box of blocks was presented to Master Dewey Brantley for pinning the star on the Christmas tree, blindfolded. Everyone had a very good time and v/ished little Jan many more happy birthdays. Childiien'Build Santa^s Castle Instead of having the convention al Christmas tree in our room, vje hava,decided to build a castle for Santa Claus. The room has been di vided into three groups. Group one will construct the castle. Group two will furnish the castle. Group three will decorate the lawn of the castle. The castle is to be made from cardboard boxes, and the towers from oatmeal boxes. We are plan ning to plaster the outside with a mixture of flour, salt, and water. The girls are to make rugs and curtains for the rooms and decorate the grounds. iVll the children in our room will have some part in building the castle. Miss Quinn's Room CHRISTMAS SEALS SOLD We sold Christmas Seals this week. ’i/Ve had one hundred to sell. A prize was offered to the one that sold the most seals. i.Iavis Perry won by selling thirty-one. R.O. Pace, Lee Roy Jones and 1.1.J.Jones sold sixteen each.
