Llaebclle Bissette in late summer took sec ond place in the Girls Division of The Ford Good Driver League in this state. In recognition of his heroic efforts in sav ing a follow companion Kenneth Gay, a cixth grader, was awarded a life saving modal by the Young Mon's Athle tic Association. Ken neth Parmer, as presi dent, is ably leading this young association. CHOSEN ,kS PRESIDENTS Chosen at the begin ning of the year to lead their classes through '41-'42 were Sidney Jones, Twelfth grade; Jack Parmer , eleventh grade; Iloraco liigh, tenth grade; Bobbie Morgan, ninth grado; Florence Miller Joyner and James Has kins, eighth grades. Other presidents dir ecting various club activities are Richard Stott, P. F. A. Chap ter; Josephine Lamm 4-H and commercial clubs; Horace High, Dramatic Club; Ailecn Pinch, First Aid Club; and Bobbie L'orgnn and Florence Joynor, Home Ec ononi c Club s. IffiDALS AWARDED The school presented journalism medals to Sidney Jones, Chris tine Finch, Marie Mor gan, Harks Undorv/ood, and Josephine Lamm last month for their achcivements in journ alism during the year. For their speed . aiid accuracy in typing, Mrs, Lassiter has giv en four typing medals this year to Ruybe Lamn, Marie Morgan, Christine Finch , and Harks Undorv/ood. JOSEPHINE lu'-Iffll was County Room Improve ment Champion for the past year and has won her fourth project 4-H Club pin. Stephen Earp, Braston Honoycutt, Richard St ott, Claroncc Ilev/some, and Harold Cooper were on the seed judging team that v;on out in the county this month at Nashville. .. 2_ Students Publish. Bugle This Month Journalism students are this month pub lishing the "Bugle" v;ith only suggestions and criticism from thoir supervisor, who previously has boon helping do the work. The editors are super vising the paper, and members have boon as signed separate pages to plan. The staff is assuining the iniativo and responsibility for tho publication of this issue.
