February 13. 19A.2 BAILEY bUGLE P^ge 7 Bailey Gnus Proud Of Their Driving Abilities 3X PHYLIS ’’It’s rather amusin'; but confusln’”,quoting' Lll Abner, how the girls of Bailey can drive. It v/ouldn’t be natural if Maebelle wasn't seen turning those corners on her school bus. Maybe Stella is im proving in her hand ling of a car, for she is nov/ driving over to Bailey; but we quest ioned her ability when first seen under- the wheel. We really held our breath for fear she was going to have a collision v/ith a bua Have any of you seen Hildred and Christine "taking off" with Hi1dre d"chauffeuring ?" They always stop at E. J.’s for a gallon, or, if they are rich that day for two gallons of gas. Hildred seems to be driving a certain blue Chevorlet from Wilson fairly well al so. Yi/hiz-z-zl A certain gray ford went byI It is not a patrolman but Josephine Griffin. I guess that must have been Martin v/ith her. Maybe Mozelle has just started driving but she can really "take off" like no body’s business. Is it the Chattanooga Choo Choo or .Elsie Pearl starting off? It must be Elsie Pearl , for it's past time for the train. As each gear changes, her luck changes and the car rolls smoothly on. A Chevorlet vdthwhite wall tires is seen parked at Bailey High. I don’t knov; who the guilty one is unless it is Elsie Mae. Gee! Here comes a big carl Wonder j/ho is at the wheel? V/hy it is Marie MorganI I’m not surprised though, for she has been at it for a long time. A nev/ green Chevorlet seems to be popular as a passenger boat, and its driver, Sarah Mor gan, is a real chauf- fuer. HonkI Honk! Better run and got behind the nearest tree! Seriously though it is too bad that Uncle Sam will be limiting the number of miles on which these new driv - ers can exercise their talent.
