Period Started In ansv/er to the re quest from state of ficials that phyj3lcal education be stressed, Bailey High School has added a physical Ed. period between the fif th and sixth periods, liach hi{ih school class has a teacher v/ho di rects them in various forms of calisthentics and drills. In a recent interviev/ with lir. Carl H.Tifalker he stated as his be lief that there is a possibility that the period v/ould be re quired next year and would rate credit just as any other subject. By beating this toara 22- 20 Bailey moved up a notch and defeated the boys from Stantonsburg High 24-21. Stantons- burg had wan 19 gruucs and lost only one to Ivlaui’y. The boys' team regrets the loss of -^'had Jern- igan, Jack -f'armor, and Dolton Perry. Throughout the season ESTELLA EATI-IAI? led In the niomber of poihts scored for the Bailey team. She was the only member to receive rec ognition in the coun ty tournament. Inhere she v/as named as for- [ ward on the second county team. As the season pro gressed RELA Pli-CH, CHRlSTIiQ TURNAGS and LIAR IE LIOliGAI'i shov/od mo rl:od improvement. Particularly wac this true of I.iorgan, who in gaining confidence in her ability, developed into one _ of the best players. On defense TrL'.D JSRN- GAN \/as an exce.llent, hard, energetic ijlnjor but \;qs not so good on offense. In this position JACK F/iRILuR, one of the hardest and stoadrest of the play ers, v.'as outstanding.
