SoTDtember 50. 1942 bailey BUGU School Presents Movies Each Friday To meet the local re creational needs heightened by lack of facilities, Bailey High School is offer ing v/eekly movies to the school and general public each Friday ev ening at 8:30 o’clock. So far v/ostorns, com edies, musical novel ties, and one of Joe E. Brov/n’s specials have been presented. Mr, vYalkor, opprator of the projector, states that better pictures cost more and for that reason the type of pictures shown will be based on the — door receipts« thr.ee new teachers JOIN FACULTY Three new teachers, Mrs. H. A, Morse, Miss Melba Martin, and Mr. Leamon Tapp, have bo- come members of the Bailey High School faculty this year. These teachors are re placing Mr, G. G, Mor gan, Mr. H. E, Rogers, and Mr. E. A. Howton. Mr. Tapp, agriculture director, originally from Kentucky, came to Bailey from the Whita kers High School. Miss Martin of Jamesville, i'.. C., teaches English and history. Mrs. Mor se of Tarboro has charge of mathematics. ^ A statement from xMiss Martin reveals that she is favorably im pressed with the stu dents and the school and is enjoying her work with both. I Alurnni Cafeteria Adds SUPHIES, EOJIPhENT ^ Many improvoments nave been made in the high school cafeteria since last year. New equipment includes a new ice cream cabinet and a thirty gallon hot vifater tank. The refrigerator is to bo remodoled for better use. Miss Murray reports that duo to the dry season the school gar den tended by W.P.A. workers, has not been as successful as was hoped for last spring. CANIffiD SUPPLIES During the summer the workers canned 5,200 quarts of vegetables. Of these canned foods 2,800 are to bo used in the Bailey cafeter ia through the winter to provide bettor lun ches for the students. The remaining quarts are divided between [vliddlosex, Mt.
