September 30. 1942 Eleventh, Twelfth Grades Combine To make ■ possible a division of the large ninth grade and to en courage a more cooper ative spirit betvv'eeu eleventh and tv/elf th grades, the latter grades are combined for this year* The home room teacher announces that this arrangement is creat ing a sense of oneness between the two class es that are now work ing together harmoni ously toward attaining senior privileges and promoting senior acti vities. Elimination of tho feeling of jealousy noted in last year's separate home rooms is another objective hoped for by this union. PT A PR.ESIDENT STATES OBJECTIVES Five specific object ive s_ have been planned ■for tho Parent Teacher Association program for 1942-43. (1) To promote the welfare of children and youth in the home, school, church, .,and c ommuni ty. (2) To raise the stan dard of home life, (5) To secure ade quate laws for the care and protection of children and youth. (4) To bring into closer relation the home and the school so that parents and tea chers may cooperate intelligently in the I training of tho child (5) To develop bet ween educatox'E and the general public such united efforts as will socure for every cl.ilId tho highest advantage in physical, mental and spiritual educa tion. Mrs. Lewis, the P.T.A. president, states that there is much work to to done, considering world and local con ditions. Children need to laiow 'the results of good health, bal anced minds, trained hands, sound character and faith in GOD.
