December 11. 1942 BAILEY BUGLE and being of these who have enough to Coaches Deserve The Best From Teams The Sport Staff Is asking that both team^ signify their appre ciation of the time and effort given by the coaches by cooper ating v/ith considerate instructors been kind accept the job.Neither coach Miss Melba Mar tin or Mr. Leamon Tapp, receives any pay for this extra work that he has xmdertaken and is performing so well. The staff believes that the coaches will shov/ no favor in choos ing the members of the team. Its advice to all players is to keep practicing,even though everyone can't make first team. Practise makes perfect. Bailey Piays Spring Hope Tonight Page 11 Daily' Practices Develop New Players For the past throe wee'ks the boys' and girls’ teams have been holding practice daily and one night each week. Many new faces are soon at practice. Some mombersjby, theiif improvement since the first of the season, give promise of de veloping into compe tent players. For the girls, V/anda Murray, a sophmore, has shown most progress. First year leaders among the boys are El ton and Tholbert Glo ver, Last year’s subs, showing more team work and batter ball hand ling this year, ccn bo watched. Bobby Stott Becomes .Gym. Keeper Bobby Stott, an out standing player on the boys' team, is the trustee of the gym.and basketballs this year. Mr, C. H, V/alker has turned the key over to him and given him au thority to ask people who are on the court with hard bottom shoes to leave. Bobby also assists Miss Melba Martin at the girls’ night prac tice each v/eek by help ing to referee the scrimages. His eager ness to cooperate with both teachers and stu dents in the care of the court and equip ment merits the praise of the entire school* The' basketball t6ams ’ will got their first tost in a double-header at Spring Hope' tohight. P.Hor ton , EIGHT GAIffiS SET The tentative program scheduled includes games v/ith Middlesex, Coopers, afid probably, lashville .1^0 date,how ever, has^'been set for these games, Mr, C. H.
