There was a short business session at which time it v/as decided to a- bandon the field day and the annual Father and Son banquet be cause of tho gas ra tioning. After the meeting a supper of chicken, salad, and iced drinko was served* SHOP WOi^^k ENDS The chapter is com pleting another year in shop work. One of the roquironents for each boy is to Imow hov/ to take apart and put together at least ono electrical tool in the shop. Any visitors to the shop will be welcomed and v/ill bo shown the operation of the dif ferent tools by some member of the chapter. Bailey Wins Band Contest The music makers of the Bailey department of Future Farmers v/on tho annual music con test hold as a feder ation contest. Middle sex and Spring Hope tied for socond place and the points of a- chievement v/ere equal ly divided. There was a ritual contost hold at the same time. Middlesex won first place followed by Coq> ors and Spring Kope SWINE PAMPHLIT PLANNlD BEST SPEAI^ER DETERMINED Tho finals of the speaking contest v/ere held in the school auditorium, Wednesday, March 3. Richard Stott won first place. In his speech he discuss ed ’’The American Far mer And Tho World At Vifar”. Willis Manning, second, spoke on "The ITood for Increased Production"* Tho finals of the county will be held at Bailey, April 19. In order creased there must to get in production be suffi cient loaowledge of the subjoct to do so. To make available this information tho Bailey Chapter plans to put out a pamphlet with information on hov; to select a hog and hov7 to caue for tho hog until maturity This will be the se cond pamphlet of its kind the chapter has completed this year.
