Lassiter Spring Presents Itself Spring, as usual in its unsur passed splendor and beauty, is be ginning to make its appearance, bringing with it a re-birth of all things controlled by Mother Nature. Although the coming of spring is, theoretically speaking, a ' rencv;ol of the appearance of nature,it must not be thought of as that and that alone. Making ourselves a part of this rebirth is as miich the purpose of spring as is the changing of colors. It should be remembered that it v/as in this season of the year that Christ was crucified, making possi ble a new birth,a new life for all. V/asted time is never regained. Be careful, then, hov; you spend your l!rime • ! To bo- able to truly love your com petitor is to possess one of the most admirable claaracteristics of man. BUGLE Page 4 Co-operative Spirit Now Shown By Seniors To have learned to co-operate is to have conquered a big step in life. Recent signs prove the sen iors are learning this step. After many 'unpleasant disagreements per taining to class activities the en tire class seems at last to have learned to pull together. Nov;, tv/ice the business can be carried out in one thirty minute class pe riod as,formerly because time is no longer v/asted in arguing. Improve ment of class spirit and a co-oper ative influence upon the entire high school will surely be the re sults of the nev/. attitude. Demand For Betror Woric Failures nov; should be avoided noro than ever before. Vie should try to do our best at this time, for the more educated v/e are the better we can help our country in every way, in fighting or in civil life. If v;e are inducted in the army, an education will help us even there. What Is Temper? ?/hon one has a quarrel v/ith an other, is this really temper? Tem per is like a substancc in a pot,if it is suddenly placed over a fire it v/ill begin to boil but v/hen the fire burns lov/ the substance v/ill cool. Temper follows in this sa:ne v;ay. If a person lets temper get the best of him, after he lias had time to cool off, he will probably regret v/hat ho has said or done. The important thing, then, is to keep cool and level headed and a- void the "boiling point". Are you going to have a garden this summer? You can’t go to school on an empty stomach; likewise our soldiers can't fight on empty stom achs. In a very real sense food is ainmunition.
