Hiss Langley plans the daily menu, bxiys the groceries, and keeps the accounts. Mgsdames Kermit Lewis, M.C. Oneal, and V.'ade • Joyner, v/ith the help of the third year home ec. girls, prepare and serve approximately { 200 plate lunches I daily. Prices arc the same as last year; plate lunches ten ccnts, soup five ccnts. In addition ice cream, milk, and cakes are sold when obtainable. New floorings, re placing outworn spots in halls, is the most pronounced improvement made in the building during the summer. Graduates of last year who have visited the school this month are Mary Rose Brown,E. C. Griffin; John Dow, Harland Perry, Joyco Vick, Jtianita Brantley, Samuel Glover, Martin Liles,Talmadgo Croech, Richard Stott, Eleanor Hedrick, and Carl H. Vmlker Jr. Eighth Grade enroll ment shows an unu sual equal number of - boys and girls; all other grades have a girl majority. Attending high school this year are 168 stu dents, 97 girls and 71 boys. R.ogers, who has gone to Virginia to be with her husband, MIsk Johnson of Conway, N. C., fills the vac ancy left by the .'.re signation of Miss Jane Lackey, now teaching at Erwin,IT. C, Princi pal Weaver comes from Castalia and replaces BUGLE EDITED BY ENGLISH, JOURNALISM CLASS I Seventeen students interested in journal ism Y/ill edit the Bailey Bugle as part of the work required in a ninety-minute combined class of Eng lish and journalism. The new class taught by Mrs. A. H. Parmer and composed of se lected students, four sophmores, thirteen juniors, and one sen ior is applying Eng lish through the med ium of journalism and, thereby, trying to im prove the school pa per.
