BAIUYBUGlt Parre 17 ■ i- SHOPOPENFORR.EPAIKS The school shop is open to the people of Bailey high school area every Wednesday night from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for re pairing farm equipment. Anyone needing repairs made may bring his work under the super vision of a shop in structor. The only charge will be the cost of the material used. ech farmer is urged to check his equipment thoroughly for needed repairs before plant ing season. Welding and general repairs will be the basis of the shop work. Glovor FollowsKules In Sav I ng Pigs Thelbert Glover, a Bailey Future Parmer, demonstrates hov; to save pigs. He has tv;o registered sows, a Duroc Jersey and a spotted Poland China, These sov;s have 'far rowed in one year 44 pigs and lost only two. Thelbert follows ap proved practices for saving pigs. The sov/s are placed in a good farrowing house with guard rails a few da37‘s before the pigs come. The sows are fed lightly for a fov/ days. Needle teeth are chocked and re moved the first day. The bedding is thin to avoid having a hole in which the sov; can lay on the pigs. BAILEY is the best farming district in Nash county* BONDS TO FOR CORN BE Gl v/£N PRODUCTION To stimulate better corn production and help relieve the feed situation, a bond will be given in 1944 to one person in each c ommuni ty in the county on the follow ing basis: 1, A farmer? must enter a five acre plot, 2, A Future Farmer or 4H member . must enter a throe acre plot, The one producing corn the most econ omical will receive the bond. A complete record must bo kept and the entry turned into the vocational agriculture teacher or the county agent.
