Information reveals that he has lived in several parts of Horth Caolina, and in Hev/ Jersey and Peurto Ttico. Of all places he lias ever lived, Peurto Rico is the most Interesting. He attended school there and had one Amer ican teacher.,- the others were Spaniards. Behind the school v;as a su^ar factory, the largest on any terri tory of the United States, Native huts v/ere of stravi built low in the ground because of hurricans which occur ■ f r e que n tly. The 1r children go nude until they got aromd twelve years of age. Except for December and Janu ary, when it becomes a little cool, the w.cathor is really hot Si':aI:os to not c^:isti but D.izards grov/ as large as aligators. Fative food consists chiefly of goats meat, shark meat, coconut meat, and canned vege tables, As a v/hole Peurto Rico is very ■unsanitary. J. E.'s father v/as a government engineer on a naval airbase con st r'act ion job. His father v;hon ready to return home had i tickets for both an airplane and a boat Since the plane left two days before the boat, he took the plane. Tlie boat he v/ould have taken was sunk on the v/ay to the United States. J. E, states that he would like living in Peuto Rico all right. CORN CONTEST Farmers, 4-H members, and P. F, A. boys are eligible to enter tho five-acre corn contest.
