April 21, 1944 Why I iilce Ag, (CONTINUE DFmPG. 26) I took part in the project story and pub lic speaking contest in the local chapter, I attended every chap ter meeting, I have learned princi ples of soldering, tin works, and acetylene v;elding besides plumb ing and electricity. I like my project work because my farm practice program con sists of two acres of tobacco, one sow, and one and one half acres of corn. This year I hope to meet the Carolina Parmer degree. I am sure that I have learned many usei\il things and that ■ our shop vifork as a whole has been v/orth v/hile to me. Sorme GoodPract i ces 1. Spring Hope v;as placed fiqrst in both contests. After the contests a barbecuc supper was served. Public Speajcing Thirty-two Future Farmers of the Bailoy Chapter met for public speaking the first v/eok in April, Each member prepared a speech not to cxcoed 10 minutes in length on an agricultural top ic.
