October 18. 1944 BAILEY BUGLE VACATIONS FURNISH SPUR FOR COMING TERM Sunmer vacation pro vided varied inspira tions and stimuli for the coning year for the high school faculty. Mrs. Howard Farmer attended a sumner session at Chapel Hill where she studied and observed demonstra tions of high school English viTork, Miss Jewel Langley aided in the cannery and continued her work with the Youth fellow ship and Girl Scouts. Mr, Leamon Tapp supervised the canncry, TOURS Tflrs. Laurine T. Lassiter spent six w.eoks in Chicago and the remainder of her vacation in her home town, Murray, Kcntucliy. Miss Wilma Johnson visited Tennessee oni the largest lake in North Carolina, Lake Ma 11 amu s k o e t, Mr, M. V'/, Y/eaver, the principal, stayed in Bailey and was County Agent of the 4-H Club. JJEW TEACHERS ■ Miss Edith Farmer visited Richmond and Vi'ashington. Mrs, Louis Watson re mained in Bailey get ting settled in her new home. Mrs. Hr R. Hinton spent most of her time in Now York and one month in Norfolk, New Students [ nter High School Three Rooker girls, Evelyn, Elsie Mac, and Dorothy, join high school this year as new students. The Rooker3, previous ly of Henderson, moved to town about six weeks ago. Other new students are Margery Womble, who returns after throe- years, and i twenty-five eighth graders from Mount Pleasant, SENIOR ORGANIZES First meeting of the senior 4H club was held October 10.
