Many of you have pro bably read stories relat ing how the bride, bridal party, and a church full of people waited for the graom who failed to appear. But how many of you have actually witnessed a wed ding like this? A prominent member ;of our church was to marry a young paratrooper and de sired an elaborate church wedding. It was her plan to have Daddy perform the ceremony. Mother direct the wedding, and Mary, ry sister, to play the piano. Saturday night was desi gnated for the rehearsal. All the bridal party were present except the groom. Everyone thought he had made bad bus connections and would arrive later. Sunday davmed bright and cheerful. The florist hav ing arrived iiniuediatoly after the morning servico, wo were decorating the church when up drove tho bride’s nervous father to inform us that the groom had not come yetjbut was still expected in time for the ceremony.’. Afternoon faded into ev ening. By seven o^olock the church was filled to its capacity, but still no groom. Church hour arriv ing, the evening service was held as usual. Several days later a mes sage delayed through an error of the 'Western Union was received stating that the groom had been sent on an important government mission and could not get there in time for the wed- ding. The next Thursday in the dimly lighted church the couple were happily marri ed. Thus the saying goes, "All’s^well that ends well'.'
