Tests have been given to
10,000 students throughout
the nation by the World
Book Company to establish
norms for students from
the fourth through the
ninth grades. Kash County
was chosen as one of the
counties in the United
States to give these tests,
the purpose of which was
to make a new test for all
students.

Jane Tapp of the eighth
grade.
She has as her hobby col
lecting shoes from the dif
ferent states and from
other countries. As yet
she docs not have shoes
from all the sta1;es, but
she will continue her
search for them.
The shoes made of glass
arc those from South Caro
lina, Ohio, Indiana, Jlevi
York, Florida, California,
I;!aryland, and Pennsylvania.
A pair of shoes made of
hand blown glass v/ere sent
to her from Texas.
Those made of stone are
from Virginia, Georgia,
Connecticutt, South Dakota,

She has five pair of
shoes from other countries.
They represent Belgium,
Mexico, Canada, Australia,
and France. These are made
of wood, stone, glass,
shells, and wood respec
tively.
For a display case, Beve
rly’s father is going to
make her a whatnot in the
shape of a shoe. It will
be made of mahogany and
have shelves in it like
regular whatnots. Beverly
hopes to have a pair of
shoes from every state be
fore her father completes
her case.
