SUITCASE As the journalism stu dents were nearing V/eldon, Korth Carolina, on the morning that started their journey to New York, I«lrs. Laurine Lassiter gave a little scream and asked if her suitcase v/as in the car. Immediately after finding it v/asn't there, she phoned A. H. Farmer to bring it the next da:y. Ifr. Farmer was only too glad to join the group in New York. So ended the suit case vjorries. WATCH "Barbara can you tell v^hat time it is by my watch? My eyes must be playing tricks on me. BEDLOE ISLAND After a general tour had been made of the Statue of Liberty, three of tho stu dents decided they would walk down tho ten flights of stairs. The others took the elevitor. They had been told that the ferry would leave them if they walked, but they still wanted to try the stairs. As the stepv/alkcrs came on the pior, the ferry was leaving the dock. The girls might have made it, but the second flight of stairs from the bottom was barricaded, necessitating walking back up. These stu dents should never forget Bedloe Island or the Sta tue of Liberty, as that ex perience caused them to miss the convention lunch eon in the Astor Hotel Ballroom, one of the high lights of the trip.
