As the first graduation exercises were in '25, the three who graduated that year are featured this month. ANNIE LEE BOYETTE FARMER Two years after gradua tion Annie Lee married Charlie L. Farmer, v;ho was. working for the Standard Oil Co. In 1928 they be came the parents of a girl, Helen Augustine. The Far mers moved to Tarboro in 1938. After a few years in Tarboro, the husband, com pleting 17 years of work with the Standard Oil Co., went into an Esso Busi ness for himself. The couple moved into their own home this year. "My years since I gradu ated from high school have been pleasant ones," states Annie Lee. WILLIAM FARMER (J&ijor) After graduation, Ynilliam attended Front Royal Mili-. tary Academy at Randolph I'acon College, Virgini&i Upo>^ completing his stud ies at military school, he enrolled at Duke Univer sity to study mcdicine. He specialized in the treat ment of the eye, ear, rose, and throat. Finishing his ' m.edical studies, he began practice in Durham. A few years aftcrv;ards he ■•.was drafted into the Arm and went overseas vdth the Duke unit to a base hospi tal in England. At present Vfilliam has an office in Greensboro. Ho married Elizabeth Cel lars from Burlington. An 18 months old daughter, Betsy, is an addition to the family. CL'.RENCE E>-T?'ON In the fall of 1925 Clarence enrolled at King's Business College, Raleigh, ard attended until 1926. A short while afterwords he mar-' ii.ied Lillie Lae Jones,Nash ville,I'j, C. At present he in maragcr and secretary of the Str-rr Enfraving Co. Raleigh, and treasurer of the Standard Office Supply Inc., Norfo.lk. He is a steward of -+he Edcnton St. Methodist Cnurch and a luem- ber of the Raleigh Ex change Club, Raleigh Shrine Club, and Sudan Temple AAK3MS, New Bern, N. C. Two ’47 Seniors Receive Scholarships Miry Evelyn apd Keith Glo ver, '47, were each win- ers of a |,250 ■ scholarship at the Farmer's Day Pro gram of the Vvilson Tobacco Expositicn and Festival in August. Day program, were offered to lucky ticket holders. Tickets were distributed to all '47 graduates enter ing the v'/ilscn Stadium, Later the liolders of the lucky tic^.cetc asked to come to the front were awarded the scholarships. COLLEGE DRAWS HALF OF ^7 GRADUATES Fifteen of the '47 gradu ates have enrolled in col lege or business school; eight have obtained employ ment; five remain at home; and one is married. Desiring to furthur their training in the commercial field, pansy Rae Bissette, Odell l&nning, and Phyllis Finch have begun studies at Hardbarger's Business College; and Sharon Bunn and Faylene Morgan.Raleigh School of Commerce. James Ray Stone, Pete Stone, and A1 I'/illiains have entered Carolina; Bobby Vick and Isaac Medlin, AppalaohiMi State College;Keith Glover, Duko University; Mary E. Glover, Woman's College; Bobby Ray Meacomes. Oak Ridge; and Betty Doris San ders, E. C. T. C. WORKING Madge Brantley has ac quired work at the F.C_X, in Tarboro;Sarah Hooks and Ruby Rhodes, at the short factory, Wilson; Janice Medlin, at Farmer's and McPhail,Zebulon,on Satur day; Clara Jean Stone,at the Revenue Building, Raleigh;J&ibel Vick,Durham; Mary Grey Wiggs,at Lamm’s Dept. Store, Bailey; and Gladys Phillips works for the Baptist minister as secretary. AT HOME Remaining at home are Evelyn Finch, Nancy Finch, Dtiisy Liles, Effie Man* ning, and Kitty Lou Mor gan.
