column to give sketches of interesting eights visited
this summer.

3ear Evelyn,
In this last letter that you’ll receive from me be
fore my return home, I world like to let you in on some
of the wonderful things I*ve seen and done while visit
ing New Youk City and Hyde Park, Kew York.
On my arrival in New Youk City, in order to go to
.Hyde Park, our destination, we got a chance to see both
Penn and Grand Central Stations. It was quite interest-
i)»^g to look at the huge stations and watch the different
pj icple pass. continued our journey on to Hyde Park.
Here we visited the home of the late President Franklin
Delano Roosevelt, his grave, and his library.
Several times vje went into New York City. On my
first visit, after a short stop over on the route to
Hyde Park, we went up into the Empire State Building.
This really gave me a queer feeling to know that I was
in a building 1V250 feet high. The same afternoon we
went to Radio City. After touring the huge
•building, we went to see a
movie in the beautiful
Radio City Music Hfill. The
movie was good, but the
show held me in a dase.
That same night we went
to gee Vaughn Monroe and
riis orchestra. You remem
ber him ag the "Racing
Vdth the Moon” man.
I guess I'm saving this
event -- the best for last,
for I'm sure I've never
seen anything as well tim
ed and beautiful as "Ice
Tirae^” the largest ice
show in the world. The
pretty girls a>^d picture
sque costumes will make
anyone's eyes beam.
In a few words I can sum
marize my trip as a grand
experience and a well en
joyed one.
