INCOME! EXPENDITURES Total incomc for the year was $20,829.26; total expenditures |19,140,91. By far the largest item was the lunchroom v;ith an income of $13,497.93 and an outlay of |.12,293.40, a balance of ijil,114.53# This surplus accumulated over the past two or three years will be used this year to keep lunches at fifteen cents just as long as possible. All of this money come from the basketball games, as the hat wasn’t even passed at the baseball games. Other items were the Bugle, taking in $749.21 and spending $-**19.33, and the general office account with an income of $.3,502.11 and expenses of $.2,850.89. Typing fees col lected totaled i>l,017.92. This gives you some idea of the amount of money needed to operate your school. It is my hope that it will also show you why we do certain things in the school in order to raise funds. The Nash County Schools have a uniform bookkeeping system which v/as inaugu rated last year. The funds are accounted for in min- . ute detail and at the close of each school year the books are sent to the office of the County Super intendent where they are audited.
