m TRIP TO NE3RA.SKA
This suiuner my father v/as elected as a delegate to
the Methodist Rural Life conference in Nebraska. He
decided to take the family and, while on the way, to
visit cur relatives in the western purt "f this state.
Before reaching the Tennessee line, we visited the
Cherokee Reservati-n, nestled in a valley midst the
Great Simky Mountains.
One i'f the m-'st interesting places that I visited
was the Hermitage, the h'me rf Andrew Jackscn, in Nash
ville, Tennessee, vihile in Nashville vie saw Soar-
ritt and Vanderbilt. Colleges.
4 Alter reaching Lincoln and finding tur place to
stay, we went cut t.; the University of Nebraska, where
tho conference was in sessirn.
0ns day at the University I met a Chinaman wh' had
come to this country to prepare himself to become a mis
sionary to his pe pie in China. Vje were great chums
during the ccnferonco.
iihile we were in Lincoln we saw the Nebraslca oapi-
tol, a very beautiful building made of Indian lime-
stone.
That W(3 might gain knowl
edge -^f America *.s small
est inc3rp;rated town, we
paid a visit to Boys' Town
near Omaha, Nebraska. The
bjys have their own shoe
shops, fact ;rics,churches
and newspaper.
The may >r of Boy's Town
is a boy of pbout fourteen
years -Id.
Our last placo of inter
est v/as Natural Bridge,
Virginia. I enjoyed my
trip, but was plad to see
Bailey again. --T, Poole-
