These attributes should help her get that looked- forward-to job after grad uation. LENZIE MORGAN "Silence is golden", we are told. In this case the gold is acquired knowledge that has brought Lenzie the highest honor of the senior year—Vale dictorian. In his freshman year he was the "lone "wolf" among all the girls who attended the Press Association in New York, As class treasurer this year Lenzie has done a perfect job of keeping track of every peniiy, MAVIS STONE Sports and flowers vie with one another for first place in Mavis’s interests* For two years she has been on the basketball team. Whether it will be school ing again next year Mavis isn't certain, but we feel sure that she will be doing something useful, WALUGE BROV.'N It was in the olay "Waltz Time" that this young,re fined chap amazed every body by revealing his hid den talent—that of sing ing, His Ford has given him a love for riding the highways. Most Depend able is the superlative honor awarded her, TiVho else could have played Jfrs, Stevens better in our senior play? Col lecting pennies is ‘ her hobby. She says, "Gradua tion will be the most delightful thing that has ever haopened in ny life," BARBARA FARMER If you should happen to see a short, dumpy, brown- eyed lass with an honest face covered ivith a smile, you would be without error in addressing her as Barbara Farmer. If you want a job done well, call on this senior. This last trait may account for her having become the Saluta- torian of her class, EARL EARP A lady's man—that is smiling Earl, Throughout high school F,F,A» act ivities have been his greatest interests. He will continue to pursue these interests as he set tles down to become a real farmer on his own, CORINNA WLLIAKE Underneath Corinnas quiet modesty lurks a determina tion and will of her own. She's among the A students in her class and is good enough in Ehglish to pinch hit for Mrs, Farmer some times, Corinna hopes to attend a business school next fall. Waltz Time, a musical comedy, was presented by the seniors of Bailey High, October 18. All members of the senior class had a definite part in the play. Those who did not have leading roles sang in the ensemble. Starring in the main roles, were Leo Horner as Kirby Stevens and Jean B. Glover as Sue Oliver. Other characters were portrayed by Betti© J, Lamm, Deotha Glover^ Earl Earp, Jean Pace, Deri Pace, Barbara Farmer, Bobby Barnes, Louise Eatmon, Mildred Finch, Anna L, Johnson, Scott Lewis, and Delton Glover, Two of the most out standing songs were "It's the Men” sang by Jean P, Glover and ”v7altz Me Till I’m Dizzy" by Jean and Deri Pace, The director, Mrs, Howard Farmer, was assisted with the mus ic by Mrs , I, T, Poole and Mrs. Helen Murray, 'vValtz Time was the first musical comedy ever presented as a senior class play. By the reception given the performance, the audience liked the new type of entertainment. as well as the seniors. The story is centered around young Kirby Stevens,- who has musi cal talent. Sue Oliver, recognizing his abil ity, never ceases ’ to give encouragement.
