JUNIOR CLASS - PRESIDENT, JIMMIE JONES VICE-PRESIDENT, JANE MORGAN, SECRETARY-TREASURER, DORIS MURRAY JRS. STAGE BAHQTTBT IH CHIHESE SETTIHO The long-awaited eve ning arrived last Fri day, April li|., when the seniors were en tertained by the Jun iors at a banquet (a "Chinese Pete”) given at the China Clipper in Wilson. About 6:20 P.m. the guests and hosts began to enter the beauti fully decorated ban quet hall. Arranged in a u-shape, the ta bles were decorated with ivy and flowers. The center piece was a Chinese doll pulling a rickshaw full of flow ers. For favors there were fans; for souve nirs, Chinese lantern nutcups. Six columns in the middle of the room were entwined by ivy and flowers and hung with laliterns. At seven the program began with the group singing "Slow Boat to China. The invocation was said by Cherry Blossom (Jane Morgan). Then Soo Happy (Jimmy Jones) welcomed the honorable seniors and introduced the Cherry Blossom, who talked of "The Wise Men of Chi- The senior class’s president, Ming Lee, (Lester Blssette) gave a talk on "The Ming Dynasty." Following this the famous Sing Song Coolies (Charles Williams, Jimmy Jones, Eldred Perry, and Ed Pace) sang "Far Away Places." Matzo Koto (Doris Murray) talked then about "The Great Wall of China." The Honorable Wise One (Mr. M. W. Weaver) made his truly *^136 Remarks,"’ followed by the Humble Servan t s (Lucinda Stott, Jac quelyn Winstead, Dixie Rae Glover, and Mary Blanche Stone) singing "Rickety Rickshaw." Then music--suspensel ConfuciusJ In came that great wise man (Gordon Blssette) to deliver his profound wisdom about the char acters of the senior graduates.
