Elizabeth Thompson
Joyner, who dropped
out of school fifteen
years ago, came back
in January and joined
the senior class to
get her diploma.
In order to cover the
whole year's work,
Elizabeth does her
studying at home. She
comes once every v/eek
to have a check up
with her teachers on
her four subjects--
English, civics, home
economics, and general
business.
Marriage, Elizabeth
says, was her reason
for stopping school.
She states that coming
back has whetted her
appetite to continue
her schooling beyond
high school.
Elizabeth, although
she really looks like
one of the seniors,
has a son, Jamies in
the seventh grade.
Among the many
changes Elizabeth
notices In the school
are library and lunch
room improvements and
better equipment to
work with,
Elizabeth's hobbies
are growing flowers
and sewing.
