PAST FLAYEPS EXPECT TO RESUME OLD FOSITICKS Seven of last year's play ers who ir> all probability will play again this year in their former positions are four seniorg--Theron Sanders (forward), Charles Williams (forward), Eldred Perry (center), and Ed Pace (forward or center). Players in the ju*^ior class are Owen Strickland (guard) and Gene Finch (forvjard), Lamar Finch (forward or guard) is the only sophomore to report from last year's team# Fr'eshmen Lead In New Prospects Among the prospects for the coming team are James Paul Stott, Cornelius Boykin, Wiley Vfilliamson, freshmen; and James Wiggs, sophomore. Other students are expected to try out for the team even though they haven't ag yet signir fied their intentions of doing so. COACHES EXPECT WirrllvG TEAM'S Although many on past year's team graduated l&st spring, the coaches are expecting to develop win ning teams for this season. For the first time'in sev eral years, two coaches, one for the boys and one for the girls, replace a one-man coach. Miss Rebecca Tomlinson,of Black Creek, a physical ed ucation ma^or and a gradu ate of Appalachian and Peabody Colleges, is the first girl coach Bailey has had in several years, Bxirley Dun'^, also a phys ical educutionma^or,is the nevif coach for the boys. Coach Dun»^ is a graduate of Elon College,av^dRoxboro is his home town* Basket ball practice is scheduled to oron the mid dle of October. The season will open this year, as of previous years, with the intor-class tour nament . Some of the sports activ ities for the year will be basket ball,touch foot'ball, baseball,and soft ball for the boys. Soft ball,volley ball and basket ball ig scheduled for the girls.
